Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the main airport in Guangzhou and is located 28 kilometers (17 miles) north of downtown Guangzhou bestriding the district of Baiyun and Huadu district. The new Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport began operation in 2004, replacing its overextended predecessor of the same name. The airport is the main hub of China Southern Airlines and a major gateway for international flights into China.

Ground Transportation

Taxi: Taxis are available at the taxi stand located just outside the terminal building.

Bus: Airport Express buses run regular routes to many destinations in Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta area, including the city center and several large hotels. Buses leave every 15 minutes from just outside the arrivals hall.

Airport Facilities

ATMs, a bank, currency exchange, and two post offices are located in the terminal building.

Restaurants and Coffee Shops serving Western and Chinese food can be found in the arrivals and departures areas.

Shopping at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport includes duty-free shops and a vast variety of other shops selling electrical appliances, clothing, books, jewelry, cosmetics, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. There is even a small grocery store in the international departures hall.

Trolleys can be borrowed for a fee of 3 Yuan, while trolley use including a porter costs 10 Yuan. Tipping is not allowed.

There are business centers providing fax, printing, copying, and computer facilities.

Other facilities and services at Guangzhou Baiyun International include left luggage, a lost and found office, children's play rooms, baby changing room, and first aid station.
